Beautiful Easter Message

We watched this short video last night for family night. It is such a powerful reminder of the loving gift that Jesus Christ gave to each of us. Every time I watch it I can't help but weep. To know that I don't have to go through life alone is such a blessing and a comfort to me. And to know that because of the gift of the Savior, I'll be able to see my beautiful mother again someday is something that words can't even express.

Spring Break

Usually for Spring Break we don't do much of anything since Todd is never around and I haven't wanted to venture out on my own with 4 little ones in tow. But this year I wanted to change all of that and let the kids have a great week instead of being stuck at home. So I wracked my brain and tried to think of fun things to do. This is what I came up with:

Horseback riding.....
lunch at Carl's Jr. (their favorite)
Then a dollar movie.

Toured the Conference Center which was really neat!

Then, we went to Wheeler Farm where the kids got to milk cows (Emily has been talking about doing it for months now):
Boondocks all day!!
We were so exhausted by the time we got home!! The kids said on the way home that they just wanted to watch movies for the next 2 days, which was great with me. So Thursday, we hung out, watched movies and ate treats, and then Friday was kind of the same thing, only I went to my aunt's funeral for several hours. It was a very good week and we had a ball together!!

I love General Conference!

I always look so forward to General Conference when we get to hear the apostles and prophet speak. The talks are always so incredibly powerful and inspirational. I come away feeling so spiritually fed and motivated to be a better person.

One of my all time favorite talks was given by Elder Bruce R. McConkie in 1985 (I had just graduated from high school the year before). He and my grandfather were really close friends so I knew that he was dying and they were afraid that he wouldn't live long enough to be able to give his talk. As I listened to him bear his testimony of the Savior and start weeping at the end, I about lost it. It was one of the most powerful testimonies I had ever heard and it really strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ. I found this video on youtube and loved how they added the images at the end showing the Savior appearing to the people on the American Continent after his resurrection (taken from 3 Nephi in the Book of Mormon). The video has been edited and isn't the full version, but the ending is still really powerful. Elder McConkie died 13 days after giving this talk. "I am one of his witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears. But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God's Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way."
